Who’s in charge?
The most important members are you, the people that make HPW awesome. To keep the fun going, we have a group of organizers and volunteers who help keep things safe and organized. Here is the current HoustonPhotowalks.com leadership team:

Joe Lippeatt
Group Organizer, Event Leader, Class Instructor
Joe is a life-long Canon shooter, starting with the AE-1. He enjoys shooting interesting subjects and using unusual cameras and techniques. He also enjoys organizing events, tours and photography travel experiences. If you have a question, feel free to ask Joe, if he doesn’t know the answer, he’ll help you find someone that does!

Charles Putnam
Assistant Event Organizer, Class Instructor
Charles has been with HoustonPhotowalks since 2013. Originally from California, he has brought his photography and photo editing expertise to Houston leading several photowalks each year. Charles is our Adobe guru, helping members learn Adobe Lightroom skills with his beginner and intermediate level classes. Charles also teaches photography classes with off-camera flash techniques.

Angel Houghton
Assistant Organizer
Angel got her first camera at age 9 and has been shooting on and off ever since. She loves natural light photography and traveling the world with her camera gear. Angel’s favorite way to express herself is with mix-media art, using photography as an editorial backdrop for her compositions.

Betty Gaw
Assistant Organizer
Betty is a native Houstonian who enjoys photographing in a group of friendly people. She’s a great bird photographer and has a keen and ear for locating and identifying birds to photograph.

Krys Westfield
Assistant Organizer
Krys started photography with a Minolta x700 in high school and has loved photography ever since. She serves as our West-most event organizer, living in beautiful Brenham, Texas. When not scouting photowalk and wildflower locations for us to visit, she’s teaching painting classes.

Kathy Marquardt
Facebook Group Administrator
Kathy has been with HoustonPhotowalks since 2014 and is our head of all things Facebook. Kathy helps cultivate conversation and keep out the spammers, making our facebook conversations fun and safe. When not photowalking, traveling or kicking out spammers, you can find Kathy taking amazing images of basketball and baseball games.
