It’s that time of year again! Part of our Beat The Heat (and stay at home) events is our Annual Fix Joe’s Busted Images challenge.

The theme for this year’s challenge are photos from our group visits to Hawaii arranged by Photowalk Organizer Steve.

NEW THIS YEAR! Since Charles will soon be teaching an HDR class, I included several exposures of an image for you to practice your HDR skillz!

After you have edited your photos, post your creative works of art to our meetup album, our FB group, and/or tag them on Insta with #houstonphotowalks.

Here’s our FB group: http://fb.com/groups/houstonphotowalks

You can start editing and sharing your work today, here are the busted images for this year:

How does this challenge work?

You are provided 5 images. They are pretty much SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera). So there are sensor spots, a little off color, mostly uninteresting, and basically “broken”.

You are welcome to edit them however you want, go completely nuts, or do some subtle retouching. You can turn them into interesting works of art, make them look hyperrealist, or completely surreal, or look like a cartoon, or … ? It’s up to you.

Put those editing skills to the test, Photoshop, Lightroom, Luminar, OnOne, MS Paint, etc.

Challenge Rules:
– Post only one edit of each of the 5 photos
– … yeah, that’s pretty much it.

You own your work. People have asked can they repost to their personal Facebook page, print them for your wall at home, or enter into photo editing contests. ABSOLUTELY. The original photograph copyright remains with the original photographer, but you are welcome to display, print, and upload your edited version for your own enjoyment.

Happy Editing!!
