Today’s class with our instructor in Barcelona really reminded me how much I enjoy shooting with that little camera in my pocket. For those that attended today’s class — and for the rest of you — let’s work on our camera, composition, color, light, and phone editing skills using our camera phone!

The challenge will last for two weeks. People that RSVP are challenged with creating a fine-art photo project in your home, and shoot it with your mobile device.

Stop watching Netflix and let’s exercise those creative skills! Head to the back yard and pull up some of those flowery weeds, throw them in grandma’s old vase, and get to shooting!

You can use tips you learned today, or ideas you find randomly by googling for iPhone tips/tricks. You can use any mobile app you find interesting (but be sure and let us know what apps you used so we can check them out too). 🙂

When you are ready to post a few project images, you can post them here on meetup or our facebook group. If you post them somewhere else, you can drop the link in comments (and use the hashtag #houstonphotowalks). Facebook seems to be the most active. Here’s the link to the group if you aren’t already a member:

YOUR DEADLINE IS NOW UNTIL JULY 31! PLENTY OF TIME TO KNOCK OUT SOME PHONE EXPOSURES!

When you post, be sure to say it’s part of the mobile phone photo challenge.

BONUS: It can be animated or a video! Are you into plotaverse, retro VHS video, or some other digital video technique? If it’s shot with, and edited with your phone, that’s included in the challenge, so knock yourself out!
