Washed Ashore is a traveling art exhibit made up of plastics that have polluted the worlds waterways. The exhibit is currently in Galveston through March 5th. There are 20+ art pieces throughout Galveston, and 5 on The Strand.

This will be a dual photowalk of photographing not just these art pieces, but also The Strand.

This is a rain or shine event

The Route
Our route will take us from Galveston Railroad Museum to Tremont Hotel to The Grand 1894 Opera House and eventually finish at Saengerfest Park.

NOTE: There are other exhibits at Pier 21, Galveston Children’s Museum and elsewhere you can visit afterwards that are within driving distance.

Charles Putnam

Originally from Southern California, my interest in photography first started with a Minolta SRT-101 (back then, we used this stuff called "film").I quickly realized that photography was something he really enjoyed.

I began to expand my understanding of the photographic process during my college days at Pierce College.

With the move to digital photography, the challenge is to keep up to date with the latest tools, techniques and software.

My day job is Manager, Corporate Risk and Insurance at Methodist Hospital where I've been since June of 2007.
