It’s that time of the year again! This is our 8th year being invited to photograph pinball, arcade, and console games from the 1960’s to brand new units at Houston’s Arcade Expo!

No official meetup time, the convention will be there for 3 days, come whenever suits you.

Alex (my son) and I bought the VIP tickets this year as a reward for his first year in college. So we will be there off and on all weekend.

A few notes:

• Careful with the flash photography, the light will bounce off of game glass and ruin your image.
• Be REALLY careful of mono/tripods in rooms with lower the lights. We don’t wanna trip anyone.
• Bring a circular polarizer for your lenses, it helps cut the reflection from the pinball game glass.
• Music is loud and lights go dim in the evening. For a quieter visit, go early in the day on Saturday.

Charles Putnam

Originally from Southern California, my interest in photography first started with a Minolta SRT-101 (back then, we used this stuff called "film").I quickly realized that photography was something he really enjoyed.

I began to expand my understanding of the photographic process during my college days at Pierce College.

With the move to digital photography, the challenge is to keep up to date with the latest tools, techniques and software.

My day job is Manager, Corporate Risk and Insurance at Methodist Hospital where I've been since June of 2007.
