We’ve visited the Yorktown Hospital several times, but never during the day. Let’s make a road trip to Yorktown, Texas, and tour this amazing location. Our tour guide will walk us to all the interesting locations while we photograph and then give us time to wander on our own.

This is perfect weather to visit the non-AC, non-plumbing, non-electric building!

Sign up early and save. The price goes up one week before the event.

I shared some pictures from previous events on our Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/houstonphotowalks/permalink/7329167453772289/

Important note:

Some members may notice the owners have raised their rates for this tour since our last visit. But they are giving HoustonPhotowalks members two bonuses: They are allowing us to photograph with some wander-around time (not allowed for other visitors), and they are letting us return later that night to photograph outside after dark!

Explore the Haunting Beauty of the Abandoned Yorktown Memorial Hospital

Join us for a unique photographic journey to the abandoned Yorktown Memorial Hospital in Yorktown, Texas. This forgotten gem, nestled in the heart of South Texas, offers a hauntingly beautiful backdrop for photographers. Built in 1950 by the Felician Sisters, a Catholic order, the hospital was established to serve the local community’s healthcare needs.

For nearly four decades, the Yorktown Memorial Hospital was a beacon of care, providing medical services to the residents of Yorktown and surrounding areas. However, with advancements in medicine and changes in healthcare infrastructure, the hospital closed its doors in 1986. Since then, it has remained untouched, a time capsule of mid-20th-century healthcare.

The hospital is also known for its alleged paranormal activity, with many visitors reporting unexplained occurrences, adding an eerie allure to its already captivating decay. The blend of its historical significance, architectural beauty, and the mysteries that lie within its walls makes the Yorktown Memorial Hospital a perfect subject for photography enthusiasts.

As we explore this abandoned marvel, we will capture the essence of its past, the tranquility of its present state of decay, and perhaps even the echoes of its storied history. This is a rare opportunity to document a piece of Texas history that continues to fascinate and inspire.
Please join us for this unforgettable photographic adventure. Let’s uncover the beauty hidden within the walls of the Yorktown Memorial Hospital and immortalize it through our lenses.
