We can learn a lot about photography by watching masters at work. The Netflix series “The Queens Gambit” is a masterpiece of lighting, color and composition.

For January’s Movie Night, we will watch about 30 minutes of videos about the Queen’s Gambit, showcasing examples of techniques we can learn for our everyday photography. And then we will discuss how we can incorporate those techniques into our own photography (video or still).

If you haven’t watched the series yet, that’s ok. The videos I have planned for us have zero spoilers, just examples of how color and composition are used to tell a story.

Be ready to challenge your current belief system about color and compositions as we talk about the different techniques used in the Netflix series.
